Cecilton Volunteer Fire Company to Begin Career Services

Cecilton Volunteer Fire Company is pleased to announce the start of a paid ambulance service on July 7, 2019

 

Due to the continuous deterioration of incoming volunteers and first responders, the rural volunteer fire department has faced many obstacles regarding response times and providing adequate services to the citizens within their district. The Cecilton Volunteer Fire Company has  taken action to ensure the citizens of Cecilton, Earleville, Warwick and surrounding areas receive the emergency medical services they deserve.

 

The Cecilton Volunteer Fire Company continues to urge citizens of Cecil County to visit their local fire station to learn more regarding the volunteer fire service. Without members in the community to volunteer, there would be no Fire, Rescue or EMS services in Cecil County.

CVFC IS HIRING MARYLAND BLS PROVIDERS!

The Cecilton Volunteer Fire Company is hiring Maryland BLS providers!

Closing Date: September 20, 2019

Position: Emergency Medical Technician – BLS (Part Time/Contractual)

Salary: $15.00 / hr

Description: Emergency Medical Technician will be responsible for performing the following:

– Basic Life Support; direct patient care as outlined in the most recent Maryland State Protocols
– Operation of EMS response vehicles in a safe and efficient manner
– Assist mutual aid fire department
– Light maintenance of vehicles and equipment
– Light janitorial and landscaping duties
– Other duties as assigned by the Director
- BLS staffed 12 hours daily

 

Minimum Qualifications:

– At least 18 years of age
– Possess valid Maryland EMT-B (National Registry Preferred), CPR and all required state training
– Possess valid state driver’s license
-  Must be able to lift up to 150 lbs
- At least three years’ experience in prehospital care (Preferred 3 yrs)
- Emergency Vehicle Operations (EVOC)  

Must possess or obtain within probationary period:

- Current clearance or successful completion of Cecil County BLS clearance process
– ICS 100, 200 & 700
– Completion of training in Bloodborne Pathogens, HIPAA & emergency vehicle operations (EVOC) or approved equivalent
- Successful Completion of drivers training in department vehicles

Applicants will be required to submit to a criminal background check, drug / alcohol screening and provide verification for all certifications / licenses as a condition of employment.
