At approximately 1130hrs, CVFC along with mutual aid companies were dispatched for a Structure Fire w/Rescue in the Crystal Beach Community. Rescue 1 was the first to arrive with a fully involved 1 1/2 story stucture with exposure to a shed and additional residence. The homeowner and 2 pets were unaccounted for and a vehicle was present in the driveway. 2 handlines were pulled and crews began fire attack. Next arriving crews were directed to the Delta side exposure to check for extension. The front door was forced open and extension was found in a bedroom on the Bravo side. Crews worked to bring the fire uncontrol and a search of the primary fire building was made with 2 pets found perished inside. About 30 minutes into the incident the homeowner arrived on scene by foot unharmed. CVFC remained on scene until approximately 1430 hours to assist the FM. Assisting companies on scene: Hacks Point, Galena, Chesapeake City, Middletown and Kennedyville.
